European Adventure 2025 | Londonderry Northern Ireland | GCP by Nicole

Our final full day of our vacation was so bittersweet.  After being gone so long I was ready to go home, but also so sad that we were saying goodbye at the end of the day.

We packed up the house and headed to the next town over, Portstewart.  We walked along the Cliff Walk and went down near the water so the kids could look for shells one last time.  Then it was time to grab some coffee and treats to head over to Coleraine and catch the train to Londonderry.

Londonderry is the second largest city in Northern Ireland. And it has the only intact city walls which we were able to walk. Another city very rich in history and disruption.

We walked the walls, did some window shopping and went down to the infamous “free Derry” sign.

After a nice lunch and some final souvenir shopping it was time to head back over the beautiful “Peace Bridge” to catch our train back to Coleraine.

From there it was some very tearful goodbyes to our friends, Steph and Vic and kiddos. And then we drove back to Gillian’s house for one more sleep before heading back to Dublin to catch our plane.

This was such an amazing trip and we were so sad to have it end especially after ending the trip with our good friends.  We always cherish any time that we have with them.

Time to start planning our next trip to see them!
