Manhattan Newborn Session | Miss M | GCP by Nicole
There is something extra special about photographing a family I already know and love, and this sweet newborn session was definitely one of those.
This family officially has three under three — two adorable little boys and now the sweetest baby girl to complete their crew. And somehow, in the middle of all the beautiful chaos that comes with three little ones, this baby girl was completely relaxed and full of smiles for me throughout her session.
I actually shared a behind-the-scenes video from her session because she kept giving me the cutest little newborn smiles while I was photographing her. Those tiny expressions are exactly why I love this stage so much. Babies change incredibly quickly during those first few weeks, and getting to freeze all of those little details and expressions is one of my favorite parts of newborn photography.
We photographed her session right at home, which is something I absolutely love offering families. In-home newborn sessions are relaxed, comfortable, and completely centered around the baby and family. There is no rushing everyone out the door, packing up half the house, or worrying about getting older siblings somewhere on time.
Instead, everyone gets to settle in at home while I take care of the rest.
And when there are two toddlers involved, that relaxed atmosphere makes such a difference! Big brothers can wander in and out, take breaks when they need them, grab a snack, play with their toys, and come back when they’re ready for more photos. It allows us to capture the entire family without expecting little ones to sit still and cooperate for an entire session.
These boys are especially fun for me because they happen to be obsessed with my teenage daughter, who babysits them, so this family already feels very close to home. Getting to photograph them welcoming their baby sister made this session even sweeter.
Three babies in three years means life is probably going to feel a little wild for a while — but these are also the days that will someday feel impossibly far away.
And now they’ll always have these photographs to remember just how tiny she was when their family became five. 🤍
