Manhattan Maternity Session | H Family | GCP by Nicole

There is something extra special about photographing families you know and love, and this maternity session was exactly that.

In just a few short weeks, our sweet neighbors will be welcoming their baby girl into the world. Their two little boys are about to become big brothers, and their family is about to enter the wonderful, busy, and beautiful season of having three children under three years old.

As you can imagine, the boys were far more interested in running around and exploring than standing still for photos. Honestly, that’s one of my favorite things about photographing toddlers. Their personalities shine brightest when they’re allowed to be themselves.

Thankfully, I had a wonderful assistant with me—my daughter. She happily played with the boys while I captured a few portraits of mom and dad together before jumping back in to help gather everyone for family photos. Having her there made such a difference, and it was fun watching her help make the session a success.

One of the things I love most about maternity sessions is documenting the anticipation before everything changes. These are the last few weeks before they become a family of five, before two little boys meet their baby sister, and before a whole new chapter begins.

I am so excited for this family and cannot wait to meet their little girl when she arrives. She is already so loved.
