Cantigny Park Graduation Session | Caitlyn | GCP by Nicole

There are some senior sessions that just seem to fit the person perfectly, and Caitlyn’s was absolutely one of them. 🤍

Caitlyn’s family are friends of ours, although we don’t get to see them nearly as often as we’d like, so getting to spend an evening together while documenting such an exciting season in her life made this session even more special.

Caitlyn has been dancing ballet since she was little, and it shows in absolutely everything she does. The grace, the movement, the way she naturally knows what to do with her hands and body—I barely had to direct her! Most of my instructions consisted of telling her where I wanted her to stand and which direction to keep her face for the prettiest light. From there, she completely took over. 🩰

Her mom actually booked this location almost immediately after seeing another senior session I had photographed here, and she knew exactly what she was doing.  The gardens, water, greenery and dreamy evening light fit Caitlyn’s personality and style perfectly.

One of my favorite parts of her session, though, had nothing to do with ballet.

Caitlyn brought along Nate, a stuffed animal given to her by her aunt who has since passed away. I absolutely loved that she wanted him included in a few of her senior portraits. Senior photos are about celebrating who you are at this exact moment, but they can also hold little pieces of the people and memories that helped get you here. I have a feeling those images will become even more meaningful with time. 🤍

Between the sentimental moments, gorgeous portraits and, of course, plenty of ballet, this gallery was SO much fun to create. Caitlyn is incredibly talented and beautiful, and I’m so excited for her as she heads into her senior year.

Such a fun night with good friends, beautiful light, and a senior who made my job ridiculously easy. ✨
