Chicago Engagement Photographer | Alex + Ryan

The rain continued to threaten Alex and Ryan’s engagement session. After rescheduling once already, we decided to go for it the following week even though a storm was on the horizon. Alex really wanted to capture Chicago since their October wedding takes place in the burbs, and we had a few locations picked out. She wanted to capture the skyline, industrial areas, and the lake. On the drive down, we decided it would be best to stick to one spot due to the weather. We chose Olive Park, right outside of Navy Pier, and there we were able to capture the skyline, lake/river, and the popular ferris wheel at Navy Pier.
After all of the cancellations, preparations, and nervousness, I am so happy with how these photos turned out! Alex and Ryan’s love for each other and fun, outgoing personalities were captured, while also showcasing the beauty of Chicago. Alex’s flowing skirt was to die for! The Chicago wind gave it life throughout the session, and I feel like it gave the images a very glamorous but elegant feel.
We are so excited for Alex and Ryan’s wedding. Engagement sessions give us an opportunity to meet the couple and spend time with them before the rush of the big day. I have known Alex since she was little and knew she would be amazing to work with. Meeting Ryan was such a joy; he’s perfect for her. He was great and down for doing whatever Alex wanted — like all good fiancés should be!
Tom and I are so thankful and honored that we get to be a part of this special couple’s engagement and wedding. Thank you Alex and Ryan! We love you and wait in anticipation with you for your big day!
