Plainfield Wedding | Patrick + Jonathon | GCP by Nicole

Patrick + Jonathon’s wedding is something I’ve been looking forward to for a long time. It ended up being even better than I imagined. A truly unforgettable day 🧡

I have known Patrick for over 20 years now and it was a surreal moment to be photographing his wedding day. I was so honored to capture this special day for him. Watching him grow up and go through other milestones has been amazing, but this day by far will be my favorite memory with him.

The minute we met Jonathon I knew it would be something special. A new calmness and happiness came about him, they just seemed to be at “home” with each other. A perfect fit that brought out the best in both of them.

I definitely had nervous butterflies the morning of the wedding, hoping everything went just perfectly. And for the most part the day was going along great until one slight hiccup, that we weren’t sure how much of an impact it would have on us at the moment!

Patrick + Jonathon had chosen Settler’s Park bridge for their first look. Sounded great – lovely location and very close to both of the houses they were getting ready in. We laughed the night before when we heard that VP Kamala Harris would at some point be driving through Plainfield the day of their wedding and someone mentioned what if it happens during the wedding and blocks people. Whelp…she managed to drive through right as my assistant Keilia and Jonathon and his wedding party arrived at the bridge. Patrick, myself and his wedding party we’re just driving up to the traffic light when emergency vehicles blocked up from crossing! Slight panic set in as we realized that they couldn’t get back to us and there was no where else we could all get to, but Patrick and Jonathon kept their cool and we just sat it out until VP Harris passed 20 minutes later and we got right back on schedule! Even their puppies made it for the end of their first look 💙

After that the day was smooth sailing! The bridal party was amazing and I worked as fast as I could to get everyone back in some a/c. We managed to take almost every single portrait including bridal party and family before the ceremony even started so Patrick + Jonathon could literally sit back, relax and enjoy their evening afterwards.

The ceremony and reception both took place at Warehouse 109 and I instantly fell in love with it the second I walked in the doors! From all the cute photo prop locations set up with an old teal camper and truck, an airstream with old school signs inside and all the wonderful touches inside the venue it was a photographers dream. The guests were equally as excited to take photos everywhere!

Their ceremony was so personable with their brother in law officiating it and Patrick + Jonathon wrote the most beautiful vows for each other. They both had everyone crying tears of joy and laughter.

Patrick + Jonathon I am so unbelievably happy for you both! Love you guys so much and I look forward to watching your love grow even more 🧡💙
