Ruffled Feathers 50th Anniversary | Janet + Jimmy

Janet + Jimmy were the absolute cutest, and it was such an honor to capture their 50th wedding anniversary celebration at Ruffled Feathers.

When their daughter first reached out to coordinate everything, I knew it would be special—but the afternoon exceeded every expectation. Every detail was thoughtfully planned, and the room was filled with family, lifelong friends, and even a few members of their original bridal party. How incredible is that? Fifty years later, still surrounded by the people who stood beside them at the very beginning.

The love in that room was tangible. You could feel it in the toast, every embrace, every shared laugh. Janet and Jimmy are clearly so cherished, and it’s easy to see why. They’ve built not just a marriage, but a legacy of love that spans generations.

At one point during the party, a guest came up to me and said, “You must really love your job—you’ve been smiling all day.” And it’s true. I absolutely love what I do. Being trusted to capture moments like this—milestones that represent a lifetime of commitment—is something I’ll never take for granted.

I also found myself spending quite a bit of time at Ruffled Feathers this past fall, and I’m definitely not mad about it. It’s always such a beautiful backdrop for meaningful celebrations like this one.
